On Friday, Queen Margrethe of Denmark was discharged from hospital, after she was hospitalized after a fall she suffered from during her stay at Fredensborg Castle earlier this week.
The Danish Royal Palace said in a statement that the Queen was discharged but she sustained several injuries to her neck vertebrae and a fracture to her left hand after the fall.
It added: "Queen Margrethe is in good spirits and is doing well under the circumstances, but will however be on sick leave for a longer period, writes the royal house."
All scheduled public engagements are officially cancelled for the Queen.
King Frederik, the eldest of Margrethe and the one the Queen abdicated the throne to early this year, said he had spoken to his mother and was confident she was 'in good hands'.
He added: "We take it day by day. The doctors are the ones who decide."
