Queen Elizabeth II in Xmas Speech: "You Are not Alone"

A few hours ago, Queen Elizabeth II delivered her annual Christmas speech. This year's one focused on the positive sides of COVID-19.

She praised the spirit of cooperation and resistance that people showed to beat the circumstances of the pandemic.

Also, her majesty described beautifully the acts of togetherness observed around the world, "Remarkably, a year that has necessarily kept people apart has, in many ways, brought us closer," adding that the Royal Family was "inspired" by people volunteering in their communities.

Furthermore, she added, "In the United Kingdom and around the world, people have risen magnificently to the challenges of the year, and I am so proud and moved by this quiet, indomitable spirit."

Moreover, the monarch conveyed warm and huge support to those who lost their beloveds, underscoring, "You are not alone, and let me assure you of my thoughts and prayers," continuing, "Of course for many, this time of year will be tinged with sadness - some mourning the loss of those dear to them and others missing friends and family members distanced for safety, when all they really want for Christmas is a simple hug or a squeeze of the hand."

Finally, the queen sent her appreciation and greetings to the frontline workers due to their huge efforts in sharing care and love with the people.

In general, her majesty's speech targets spreading rays of hope and motivating people to keep fighting against the pandemic.
