Queen Elizabeth II made a surprise appearance on Tuesday at London Underground to inspect the opening of the self-named station and she had the first ticket.

Although her youngest son, the Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward, was supposed to represent her at the event, she decided to accompany him.

This appearance is considered the third in only five days since the rise of concerns over her health and missing her most prestigious legal right to open the parliament.

Reports indicated that Buckingham Palace planned the opening of the Elizabeth Line by taking the Queen’s intention of making such a presence into consideration.

The palace said in a statement: “In a happy development, Her Majesty the Queen is attending today’s event to mark the completion of the Elizabeth Line.”
