Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani landed in Tehran on Sunday after tension between Iran and the US rose following the assassination of Iranian Major General Qassem Soleimani.
The tension between Tehran and Washington has been soaring after the United States carried out strikes on Friday, January 3 on military vehicles inside Baghdad International Airport, in which Soleimani was killed.
Five days later, the Revolutionary Guards Corps of Iran took revenge on the US after launching a dozen ballistic missiles at two Iraqi bases, housing American troops.
Qatar News Agency reported via its official Twitter page that Tamim held talks with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on boosting bilateral relations between Doha and Tehran especially in the fields of economy, trade, investment, and tourism.
