Qatari Prime Minister (PM) and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held a phone call with Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
During the call, they reviewed cooperative relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them, and discussed Pakistani mediation efforts between the United States and Iran.
The call also touched upon coordinating efforts to back the mediation aimed at de-escalation, thereby contributing to the promotion of security and stability in the region.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani emphasized the need for all parties to respond positively to the ongoing mediation efforts. This, he noted, would pave the way for addressing the root causes of the crisis through peaceful means and dialogue, ultimately leading to a sustainable agreement that prevents a renewal of escalation.
Over the past few hours, statements have emerged confirming tangible progress in the negotiations between the United States and Iran, amid an atmosphere of optimism regarding the imminent conclusion of a final and lasting agreement, alongside Israeli concerns over a deal that does not meet its security requirements.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated yesterday, Sunday, from New Delhi, that there is a "possibility that the world will hear good news in the coming hours, especially concerning the Strait of Hormuz."
