Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed in a phone call today with Abbas Araghchi, Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, efforts aimed at achieving peace and enhancing security and stability in the region.

During the call, according to the Qatar News Agency (QNA) today, Sunday, the Qatari Prime Minister renewed the State of Qatar's full support for continuous efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement to end the crisis.

He emphasized the need for all parties to respond positively to these efforts to help achieve sustainable peace and the desired stability in the region.

Furthermore, he stressed that freedom of navigation is an firmly established principle that is non-negotiable.

He warned that closing the Strait of Hormuz or using it as a leverage tool would only deepen the crisis and jeopardize the vital interests of the region's countries.

He also underscored the importance of adhering to the rules of international law and the principles of good neighborliness, while prioritizing the interests of the region and its peoples.

This, he noted, would contribute to enhancing regional and international security and stability, and support efforts toward de-escalation and calming tensions.
