Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed efforts to achieve peace and bolster regional security and stability during a phone call received from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
According to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Qatari Prime Minister emphasized during the call the necessity for all parties to respond positively to ongoing mediation efforts.
He noted that such cooperation would pave the way for addressing the root causes of the crisis through peaceful means and dialogue, leading to a sustainable agreement and preventing further escalation.
Furthermore, he stressed the critical need to open maritime corridors and ensure freedom of navigation, asserting that they should not be used as leverage or bargaining chips.
In this context, he highlighted the negative repercussions of such actions on regional states, global energy and food supplies, and their broader impact on international peace and security.
