Qatari Emir Praises Egypt's Role in Reaching Ceasefire in Gaza

Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, praised the Egyptian and American roles in reaching ceasefire in Gaza.

"I renew my thanks to Egypt and the United States (US) for their cooperation in achieving the ceasefire recently, and we will continue our efforts to reach a comprehensive ceasefire," he said during the 44th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit.

Moreover, he called on the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities, end the barbaric war, and force Israel to return to credible negotiations to achieve a two-state solution.

He also reiterated his country's condemnation of the targeting of civilians of all nationalities, ethnicities, and religions, stressing the importance of providing them with protection.

Qatar Emir stressed that the issue of the Palestinian people cannot be marginalized, as the era of colonialism is over.
