Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Wednesday that Russia has received a personal invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump to join the "Board of Peace" concerned with the Gaza Strip.

Commenting on Trump’s initiative to form the council, Putin stated that Russia has always supported efforts aimed at promoting international stability, according to the Russian news agency "Sputnik".

The President noted that Moscow will formally respond to the invitation after the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reviews the received documents and consults with strategic partners.

He reaffirmed that his country remains committed to supporting any endeavors aimed at enhancing stability on the international stage.

President Putin further explained that the "Board of Peace" proposal focuses primarily on reaching a settlement in the Middle East. In a significant move, he announced Russia's readiness to contribute $1 billion from previously frozen assets to the council's funds.

Putin concluded by expressing his gratitude to President Donald Trump for the offer to join the "Board of Peace," signaling a potential opening for multilateral cooperation on the regional crisis.
