Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to meet United Arab Emirates (UAE) President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, today, Thursday, during his official visit to Moscow.
The meeting will address various fields of bilateral cooperation, the current situation in the Middle East, and other pressing international issues.
This visit follows Abu Dhabi’s recent hosting of representatives from Russia, the United States, and Ukraine; a move through which Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed the UAE's readiness to facilitate prisoner exchanges between Moscow and Kyiv.
The two leaders last met at the Kremlin in early August 2025, where they discussed economic cooperation and the Israeli-Palestinian file.
They also met in person in October 2024 on the sidelines of the UAE President's participation in the BRICS summit in Kazan.
Putin previously visited Abu Dhabi in 2023 to discuss regional issues and ways to develop relations.
Furthermore, the two presidents maintain regular contact via telephone, with their most recent calls occurring in March, May, and June 2025.
