Yuri Ushakov, Aide to the Russian President, announced Monday evening that President Vladimir Putin held a phone call with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, to discuss current international developments.
Following the call, Ushakov told reporters: "Donald Trump called Vladimir Putin to discuss a number of highly important issues regarding current developments in the international arena."
The presidential aide described the dialogue between the two leaders as "businesslike, frank, and constructive," noting that the conversation lasted approximately one hour.
"The focus was indeed on the situation surrounding the conflict with Iran and the ongoing bilateral negotiations regarding the Ukrainian settlement, with the participation of U.S. representatives," Ushakov stated.
He added: "The American President noted that, as previously agreed, such communication should occur regularly. Both leaders expressed their readiness for this."
During the conversation, the U.S. President also provided his assessment of the evolving situation in the context of the ongoing U.S.-Israeli operation.
According to Ushakov, there was a "very substantive exchange regarding the situation in Iran," which he described as a "useful exchange of views."
Furthermore, the Russian presidential aide explained that the two leaders discussed the situation in Venezuela, telling reporters: "The presidents also touched upon the issue of Venezuela, particularly in relation to the global oil market conditions."
