TASS news agency reported, citing an aide to the Russian President, that Vladimir Putin discussed the latest developments regarding the war in Iran during a phone call with his American counterpart, Donald Trump.
The conversation also included an exchange of ideas concerning Iran's nuclear program.
The aide explained that the call lasted approximately an hour and a half and encompassed a discussion on the situation in the Gulf region and the broader regional repercussions of the conflict.
During the call, Moscow emphasized that any U.S. ground operation against Iran would be a dangerous move that could lead to a widespread escalation in the region.
This stance reflects Russia's commitment to preventing the conflict from sliding into a direct confrontation, while maintaining diplomatic coordination between the major powers.
