Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, praising the heroic participation of North Korean forces in military operations in Russia’s Kursk region.
The telegram, reported by the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on December 18, stated: "The heroic participation of the Korean People's Army troops in liberating the Kursk region from the invaders, as well as the subsequent work of Korean engineers on Russian territory, has become a clear confirmation of the solid friendship and brotherhood between the Russian Federation and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea."
In his message, Putin pointed out to the two countries' success in "ensuring the systematic implementation of the provisions of the historic Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty," which has resulted in "a significant expansion of fruitful bilateral cooperation" in multiple areas.
