Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed signing a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement with his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolás Maduro, According to "TV BRICS" website.
This came during a video conference held to mark the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Venezuela.
According to a statement issued by the Kremlin, Putin expressed his satisfaction with the current state of Russian-Venezuelan relations and suggested signing the agreement during Maduro's upcoming visit to Moscow at a mutually convenient time.
Russian President also invited the Venezuelan leader to attend the May 9 celebrations in Moscow.
For his part, Maduro recalled the historic BRICS summit, saying, "The memories of the historic BRICS summit in the beautiful city of Kazan remain vivid, where we exchanged views on the new world order," emphasizing the importance of working with Russia to build a "multipolar and multicentric world."
It is worth mentioning that diplomatic relations between Russia and Venezuela date back to 1945 and have seen increasing cooperation across various fields.
