Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a cable of condolences to the South Korean president over the victims of the stampede that took place in the capital, Seoul, on Saturday.
"Please accept my deepest condolences for the victims of the tragic accident in Seoul. We express our sincere sympathy and sorrow to the families and friends of the victims, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured," the cable said, according to the Kremlin statement.
In a mass stampede in Seoul, 153 people were killed, including four Russian citizens, and more than 100 were injured.
