On Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin mourned the death of veteran U.S. talk show host Larry King, who passed away yesterday at the age of 87.

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin offered his condolences over the death of Larry King.

"They met several times. King repeatedly interviewed Putin," Peskov added. "The president has always valued his high professionalism and indisputable journalistic authority."

King died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Earlier this month, he was hospitalized for Covid-19.

King conducted an estimated 50,000 interviews in his six-decade career, which included 25 years as host of the popular CNN talk show Larry King Live.
