The Kremlin Press Office reported in a statement on Sunday that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko held a telephone conversation.
According to the statement, the primary focus of the discussion was the upcoming meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State between Russia and Belarus, scheduled for February 25.
The statement noted that both presidents discussed the ongoing preparations for this high-level event.
The Kremlin further mentioned that the Russian President discussed several "pressing international issues" with his Belarusian counterpart.
The statement concluded: "President Putin held a phone conversation with President Lukashenko... during which a number of urgent issues on the international agenda were discussed."
