Russian President Vladimir Putin held phone talks with his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
During the phone call, the two leaders discussed developments in the Ukraine crisis and bilateral relations.
According to a statement from the Kremlin, Putin briefed his Brazilian counterpart on the results of his recent meeting with U.S. President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, which took place in Moscow on August 6, as reported by Russia’s TASS news agency.
Lula expressed his support for efforts aimed at finding a resolution to the Ukraine crisis.
Both leaders reaffirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and Brazil and to continuing cooperation within the framework of the BRICS group.
