On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on his 71st birthday.
Putin conveyed his congratulatory in a speech delivered via video conference during the activities for laying the containment structure for the first reactor unit at the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant.
Putin noted that Sisi was the one who initiated the Dabaa nuclear power plant project, adding that the first unit will contribute an additional 35,000 kilowatts of electrical power.
The El-Dabaa plant — built in cooperation with Russia’s state nuclear corporation Rosatom — stands as one of the most significant joint ventures between Cairo and Moscow, marking a historic chapter in Egypt’s pursuit of peaceful nuclear power.
