Russian President Vladimir Putin and the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, have emphasized the need to swiftly reach a political and diplomatic solution to the ongoing crisis surrounding Iran, while taking into account the interests of all countries in the region.
This came during a phone call initiated by the Russian President with the King of Bahrain, during which both sides reaffirmed their joint commitment to strengthening Russian-Bahraini cooperation, according to a Kremlin statement reported by the Russian news agency "Sputnik."
The Kremlin added that the call underscored a mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation across trade, economic, financial, investment, cultural, and humanitarian field.
In March, the Russian President held a similar phone call with the King of Bahrain, where they exchanged views on the unprecedented escalation surrounding Iran resulting from US and Israeli aggression.
During that call, both leaders stressed the urgent need for a swift cessation of hostilities to prevent the situation from spiraling completely out of control, and to guide it back into a political and diplomatic framework.
The Kremlin further noted that President Putin and the King of Bahrain agreed to continue bilateral consultations. Putin also reaffirmed Russia's readiness to utilize all available means to help achieve stability in the Middle East.
