Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Beijing for a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping amid growing geopolitical tensions and shifting global alliances.
Chinese state media confirmed Putin’s arrival in the Chinese capital ahead of high-level talks expected to focus on strategic cooperation, regional crises, energy markets, and evolving relations with the United States.
The visit comes as Moscow and Beijing continue strengthening their political and economic partnership in response to increasing international instability and Western pressure linked to the war in Ukraine.
At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that there are currently no clear preconditions for resuming a comprehensive strategic dialogue between Russia and the United States.
Observers say the summit is designed to demonstrate the growing alignment between China and Russia as both countries navigate changing relations with Washington under President Donald Trump.
The talks are also expected to address the escalating crisis involving Iran and its impact on global energy supplies and maritime trade routes.
