On Saturday, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin approved a law allowing the authorities to detain anyone for 30 days if they violate martial law once declared in the country.

The law stipulates:

1. A fine for individuals of between 500 and 1,000 rubles or administrative detention for 30 days, if the offenses do not involve any criminal penalties.

2. A fine of 1,000 to 2,000 rubles for the offending state officials, or 30 days of administrative detention.

3. Confiscation of vehicles used to commit violations punishable by law.

Putin's decision came in response to the armed rebellion declared by the "Wagner" troops.

Earlier today, the Russian Federal Security Service confirmed that the statements and behavior of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the "Wagner" military company, represent a call for armed civil conflict and a stab in the back for Russian soldiers fighting neo-Nazism in Ukraine.
