Putin Addresses Delegation of 76 Countries Participants in The Russian Language Conference in Moscow

The 15th Russian Language Conference on the Russian Language was opened in the Russian capital, Moscow, as part of Russia's celebrations of Popular Unity Day.

At the beginning of the conference, the head of the Russian Mir Foundation, Vladimir Tolstoy, read a speech on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin said, “Russia is always open to consolidating friendship and partnership in all fields with all partners.”

Putin addressed the conference participants by saying: “You have a wide spectrum of problems to discuss related to the spread of the Russian language and Russian literature, supporting communication between speakers of the Russian language, and developing human and professional relations among all those interested in Russian culture.”

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, Head of Russia's Orthodox Church, also sent a speech of greeting to the participants in the conference, which he described as an important arena for discussing everything related to Russian culture and its lovers.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also spoke to the participants with a speech of thanks for their role and support for the Pushkin language outside Russia's borders.

Also, Konstantin Kosochov read the speech of Mrs. Valentina Matviyenko, President of the Russian Federal Assembly, greeting the conference participants for their interest in Russian culture and literature and for enduring the trouble of traveling, but despite that, representatives of 77 countries came to participate in the conference.

The Mufti of Russia, Sheikh Ravil Garinodin, also spoke, praising the organization of the conference at this time, stressing that Russian literature always carries within it the meanings of peace and love among people.

Yevgeny Primakov, head of the Federal Agency for International Humanitarian Cooperation, noted that the world of Russian language and culture is unlimited.

He paid thanks to everyone who contributed to their support and development.

In his speech, Vladimir Tolstoy mentioned that the world is with Russia, which is confirmed by the numbers.

He pointed out that those countries have sent their delegations to Moscow, despite all the difficulties, to join celebrations of the Day of Popular Unity and also to participate in the 15th version of the Russian Language Conference under the title “The Message of the Russian Language in a Multipolar World.”

Tolstoy added that the participants will have a busy program awaiting them the next day in getting to know the most important archaeological and historical monuments in the capital, Moscow.

After the opening ceremony, the conference witnessed more than one round table to discuss many issues.

There was a round table entitled “The Russian Language: Possibilities and Horizons.” There was also another round table entitled “The Role of Russian Culture in Communication between Russia and the Peoples of the World.”

And there was also a symposium entitled “The Development of the International Movement of Lovers.” Russia".

The conference honored several workers in the field of teaching the Russian language from several countries participating in the conference.

The conference opened with a children's song carrying the meanings of peace and love, presented by 5 children, including an Egyptian girl.

The participating Egyptian delegation included Sherif Gad, President of the Egyptian Association for Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities, Dr. Mohamed Nasr El-Gebali, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun ( Languages), Luxor University, and Dr. Wael Fahim, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Al-Alsun (Languages), Ain Shams University.
