A protester set himself on fire today outside the White House during a pro-Palestinian rally in protest of the war in the Gaza Strip and the killing of innocent civilians.

According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail", Samuel Mina Jr. tried to set himself on fire in Lafayette Park, where a large number of protesters gathered.

Police officers rushed to help him after noticing the fire in his arm and approached him cautiously.

Passers-by rushed to pour water on him to put out the flames, then a police officer pushed him away.

A video clip recorded after the fire was extinguished showed Mina standing among a group of police officers, with an arm that was severely burned.

Mina waved his burned arm in the air while screaming in pain, surrounded by several police officers, and spoke about the "misleading information" about what is happening in Gaza.

In a post on his social media page, he wrote: "It is settler colonialism."
