The Egyptian Public Prosecution announced the details of the death of a young man, who jumped off the Cairo Tower on Tuesday.
In its investigation into the incident, the prosecution said that on the day of the incident the young man went to the Cairo Tower building alone and climbed to the top, accompanied by a security officer at the time, who ordered him several times to get away from the fence.
The investigations revealed the suicide was due to the financial hardship of the deceased and his personal burdens that caused psychological pressure. Two messages were found, including disputes between him and his brothers, who helped him financially, and another message to a person when he was in the tower telling him that it was the last moments of his life.
The prosecution said in a statement issued on Tuesday, by the Attorney General’s Office: “We received a notification yesterday evening, June 20, that a young man fell from the top of the Cairo Tower. We immediately began investigations and moved to the crime scene to inspect it. We also examined the content of the deceased's phone, which was in his possession at the time of the incident.
“The prosecution concluded from all the measures it took that the deceased went through financial distress because of his personal burdens that caused psychological pressures that afflicted him. He went to the tower's building alone and suddenly jumped. One of the security personnel at that time asked him to leave because the time of the visit was over, he headed towards the fence and jumped from the top of the tower, and the security personnel did not manage to catch him."
