Prominent Figures Mourn Passing of Fathi Sorour

This Saturday morning brought the sad news of the passing of Dr. Ahmed Fathi Sorour, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, prompting tributes from a host of officials and political icons.

General Sayed Meshaal, former Minister of Military Production, expressed his condolences on the "On My Responsibility" program, hosted by journalist Ahmed Moussa on Sada El-Balad TV channel. He remarked that Dr. Sorour passed away during blessed days, praying for his entrance into paradise.

Meshaal highlighted Dr. Sorour's significant contributions to legislation and law, noting his extensive popularity throughout his parliamentary and professional career.

Engineer Sameh Fahmy, former Minister of Petroleum, also paid tribute to Dr. Sorour, stating, "He always spoke his mind and greatly earned the love of the people, being a substantial legal figure."

Furthermore, Mohamed Osman Elkhosht, President of Cairo University, reflected on Dr. Sorour's scholarly and ethical virtues, mentioning, "Dr. Sorour led a research school and was among the best in character, knowledge, and literature. He contributed immensely to high-quality science and served the country throughout his career."
