Profile: Who is Hamdy Fathy, Egypt's Brilliant Midfielder

Egypt are set to host Senegal in the first leg of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers play off, set to take place at Cairo Stadium on Friday, March 25th.

Egypt coach Carlos Queiroz also included three new faces in his 23-man roster for the anticipated two-legged clash -- Ahly defender Yasser Ibrahim, Pyramids FC full-back Omar Gaber and midfielder Nabil Emad.

Hamdy Fathy

Hamdy Fathy is an Egyptian midfielder playing for Al Ahly. He was born on  September, 29 1994).

On October 14th , 2019, Fathy made his international debut and scored the only goal in a 1–0 win against Botswana. Hamdy featured in the 2021 AFCON final match against Senegal.

He started his football career in Ala'ab Damanhour, then Enppi, and Petrojet, before joining the Red Devils two years ago. He claimed four Egyptian League titles with Al Ahly as well as, two CAF Super Cup trophies and two CAF Champions League titles.
