Egypt are set to host Senegal in the first leg of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers play off, set to take place at Cairo Stadium on Friday, March 25th.
The second leg will take place on Tuesday, Match 29th in Senegal. The Pharaohs head coach
Ahly playmaker Magdi Afsha was recalled to Egypt's squad for a World Cup qualifying playoff against Senegal but there was no room for teammate Mohamed Sherif despite his fine goal-scoring run of late.
Egypt coach Carlos Queiroz also included three new faces in his 23-man roster for the anticipated two-legged clash -- Ahly defender Yasser Ibrahim, Pyramids FC full-back Omar Gaber and midfielder Nabil Emad.

The Egyptian international goalkeeper was born on 22 December 1988 and he is the first choice goalkeeper for Egyptian giant Al Ahly.
He began his career as a youth player with Al Ahly but was released in 2009, joining Tala'ea El Gaish. He spent time on loan with Haras El Hodoud before joining Petrojet in 2013.
He returned to Al Ahly in July 2016 and then displaced Sherif Ekramy, he is considered one of the best goalkeepers in Africa. he helped the club win 3 consecutive Egyptian Premier League titles in 2016–17, 2017–18, 2018–19 and 2019–20 seasons and 2 consecutive CAF Champions League titles in 2019–20 and 2020–21 seasons.
He made his international debut for Egypt in March 2018 in a friendly match and was selected as the starting goalkeeper for their squad at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, playing in their opening two matches.
