Dr. Shaker Abu Al-Maati, a professor of agricultural climate, said that there is a clear relationship between planting trees and coping with climate change, as trees contribute to reducing carbon dioxide and reducing air pollutants.

He added during a telephone interview with the “This Morning” program aired on the “Extra News” satellite channel today, Saturday, that planting trees contributes to improving air quality and reducing the percentage of pollutants in the air, noting that agriculture is the main lifeblood.

He talked about the presidential initiative of 100 million trees, which has completed the planting of 950,000 trees, saying that planting trees helps improve air quality and reduce pollution, in addition to many health benefits as a result of afforestation and fresh air that is breathed.

He added that the benefits of tree planting are diverse and are not limited to protecting the air but also have economic, environmental, and social benefits, noting that the 100 million trees initiative will contribute to increasing per capita green spaces and reducing emissions, and agriculture is the backbone of life, especially since it has a social, economic and environmental impact.
