On Friday, Dr. Mohamed Saafan, the minister of manpower, revealed that the Eid Al-Adha and 23rd July Revolution holiday for private-sector workers will start on Sunday, July 18, instead of Monday, July 19.
This decision came after President Abdel Fattah Sisi directed the government to extend the holiday for the public sector and governmental institutions workers to start on Saturday, July 17, instead of Monday, July 19.
In a statement, Saafan added that companies have the right to ask employees to work during this period on job requirements, but are still legally obliged to pay double-time to those who work during a holiday.
