Prince William has praised Catherine, Princess of Wales following her recent official visit to Italy, describing her as “an amazing mum” and saying their family “couldn’t cope without her.”
Speaking during a radio interview while visiting the Isles of Scilly, Prince William said he felt “very proud” of Catherine after she completed her first major international trip since revealing her cancer diagnosis in 2024.
The Princess of Wales recently traveled to the Italian city of Reggio Emilia, where she promoted the importance of early childhood education and child development. William said she returned from the visit “buzzing” and was excited to continue her work in the area of early years education.
“She’s been through so much in the last couple of years,” William said, adding that the family is carefully managing her schedule as she gradually returns to public duties following treatment.
The prince also revealed that Catherine spends countless hours researching childhood development issues and joked that paperwork linked to her projects often fills their bedroom at home.
During his visit to the Isles of Scilly, Prince William officially opened a new hospital facility and toured the construction site of sustainable housing projects backed by the Duchy of Cornwall.
He also shared personal stories about family life, joking about school runs with his children and revealing he sides with Devon in the traditional cream tea debate by putting cream on scones before jam.
