On Friday, Prince of Wales William announced the finalists for his Earthshot Prize, that concerned with innovative ideas concerned to help the environment.
The shortlist featured 15 innovations from across the world.
The ideas include a "Great Bubble Barrier" to collect plastics before they found their way to the waters, a model for a zero-waste city, and a new type of leather made from the waste of flowers.
Five winners will be selected and they will be announced in Boston, US next month, and each winner will receive £1 million to develop their projects.
Prince William described the finalists as "innovators, leaders and visionaries" adding that the competitors proved there are "many reasons to be optimistic about the future of our planet".
He added: "They are directing their time, energy and talent towards bold solutions with the power to not only solve our planet's greatest environmental challenges, but to create healthier, more prosperous and more sustainable communities for generations to come."
