The late Duke of Edinburgh's, Prince Philip, will is about to be kept private and sealed for almost 90 years, according to the High Court, BBC reported on Thursday.
The court pronounced that the main reason for un-releasing the Queen husband's will is to protect "the dignity of the Queen." In addition, it is part of the Royal protocols that the wills of the high ranked members be handled with much care.
Judge Andrew McFarlane in the High Court was the one who uttered the decision today, and this decision is based on the tradition of senior royalties' wills being sealed "to prevent inspection".
Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth’s Husband and the Duke of Edinburgh passed away in April aged 99. The funeral was held at Windsor Castle with a limited number of guests.
The guests included Queen Elizabeth, her three sons: Prince of Wales Charles, Duke of York Andrew, and Earl of Wessex Edward, her only daughter Princess Royal Anne, her grandchildren: Duke of Cambridge William, Duke of Sussex Harry, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Lady Louise Windsor, Viscount Severn, Peter Phillips, and Zara Phillips.
Also, several Royal members were included such as Duchess of Cornwell Camilla, Charles’ wife, Duchess of Cambridge Kate, William’s wife, and the Countess of Wessex Sophi, Edward’s wife.
Queen Elizabeth II’s husband requested before his death the presence of his German relatives to take part in his funeral, so, the names of several German royalties were listed such as Bernhard, Hereditary Prince of Baden, Prince Donatus, Landgrave of Hesse, and Prince Philipp of Hohenlohe-Langenburg.
