The Sunday Telegraph has reported that Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, made a private visit to Queen Elizabeth II’s grave upon returning to the United Kingdom.

Harry arrived in London on Monday morning and went straight to Windsor Castle, where he laid a wreath and paid his respects to the late monarch at St George’s Chapel on the third anniversary of her passing.

At the same time, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Kate Middleton, were just eight miles away on the other side of Windsor Great Park, attending a public event commemorating the Queen.

The Duke of Sussex was photographed at Los Angeles International Airport before his trip, dressed casually in a black polo shirt, sunglasses, and carrying a brown leather bag. Upon landing in London, he was taken to Windsor’s private wing before being driven by Range Rover to the castle. Images of his arrival were published by The Sun.

Reports note that Harry had to seek special permission to visit the Queen’s resting place, as he did during his last-minute trip to Windsor for the first anniversary of her death in 2023. Buckingham Palace officials emphasized that this year’s visit was also strictly private.

The late Queen is buried in the King George VI Memorial Chapel, a small annex to St George’s Chapel, alongside her husband Prince Philip, her parents, and her sister Princess Margaret.

Harry, whose last UK visit was in April, is expected to spend several days reconnecting with his charitable foundations. Sources close to him describe him as being in excellent spirits and optimistic about the trip.
