Jordan’s King Abdullah II and his half-brother Prince Hamzah made their first joint public appearance Sunday since a palace feud last week.

Jordan citizens are celebrating the kingdom's centenary today. To congratulate and wish it on its special day, people of Jordan and Arab leaders took to social media platforms and shared many photos and videos of the Hashimy kingdom.

In this regard, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed El-Tayeb congratulated King Abdullah Hussein and the people of Jordan on this occasion.

During his meeting with the Ambassador of Jordan in Cairo, He also extended his warm wishes to king Hussein and the people of Jordan on the 100th anniversary of the kingdom's centenary.

In the same context, the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan took to Twitter to congratulate Jordan state on its special day.

Meanwhile, Emirate's crown prince pointed out the depth of the UAE's ties with Jordan in messages of congratulations posted on Twitter on Saturday.

"Jordan turns 100. As this great nation reflects on its journey, we take stock of our partnership with the Jordan citizens."

"Congratulations to my brother King Abdullah II and the dear people of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on their centennial. May Jordan continue to be a beacon of peace, reason, and wisdom in the world."

It's worth mentioning that modern Jordan originated during the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire in 1916 that was led by Sharif Hussein of Mecca and his four sons, one of whom, Abdullah, proclaimed the Emirate of Transjordan on April 11, 1921.

Later on, the Jordanian state has adopted the principles of the Great Arab Revolt in "the smooth, confident transition from the independence to the issuance of the Constitution during the reign of the late King Talal, before the procedure continued with the late King Hussein, who protected the Kingdom and built its institutions", according to Jordan authorities.
