U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price said on Wednesday that U.S. patience with Iran over its return to discussions on the 2015 nuclear deal "has limits."

When asked in a press briefing if there is a deadline for this offer, Price said that the steps taken by Iran in violation of the terms of the nuclear agreement and its restrictions on its nuclear activities made the matter an "urgent challenge" to the U.S..

"Our patience is not unlimited, but we believe, and the president was clear in this regard ... that the most effective way to ensure that Iran could never acquire a nuclear weapon is diplomacy," he said.
