Presidential Health Advisor: Egypt Enters 3rd COVID-19 Wave

Health Affairs Presidential Advisor Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din said on Wednesday that Egypt has entered the 3rd wave of Coronavirus.

 

In televised statements to "Extra News" TV channel, Tag El-Din stressed that there is a continuous increase in the number of infected cases, which in turn requires hospitalization and intensive care.

 

Moreover, he affirmed following instructions and all preventive measures, is still the first line of defense against the virus, especially since COVID-19 is contagious and a respiratory virus that is transmitted from an infected person to a number of other people.

 

On Tuesday, Egypt registered 1,003 new coronavirus cases, the highest single-day rise since 8 January, bringing the total infection tally to 224,517 since the outbreak began last year.
