Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry has directed diplomatic missions to assist Egyptians living abroad in participating in the upcoming presidential elections, which will take place on December 1, 2, and 3, 2023, and will involve 137 subcommittees in 121 countries.
According to a statement recently issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Minister called on Egyptians living abroad to exercise their constitutional right to vote and participate in public life. He further praised the coordination between his ministry and the National Elections Authority and thanked the authority for providing support to ensure the safety and ease of the electoral process in missions abroad.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has extensive experience in organizing elections and referendums, having participated in 10 constitutional entitlements since 2011. The Ministry also contributes to the arrangements for the participation of international and regional organizations, including the League of Arab States (LAS) and the African Union (AU), which have been invited to monitor the upcoming elections," the statement read.
It added: "The voting process in Egyptian missions abroad will take place between 9 am and 9 pm, according to the local time of each country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has established an operations room at its headquarters to monitor its missions abroad and ensure the smooth conduct of the electoral process. This is being done in coordination with the National Elections Authority."
