Health Affairs Presidential Advisor Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din said on Wednesday that Coronavirus is a global pandemic.
In a televised statement, Tag el-Din added that Egypt has already entered the fourth wave of COVID-19, expecting that the country will see a peak of coronavirus infections after 10 or 14 days.
Concerning children's vaccination during the upcoming period, the Presidential advisor said that Egypt is dealing with the pandemic with high professionalism to protect citizens and young people as well as children.
On Tuesday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 688 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 298,296.
The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 17,016 nationwide after the ministry announced 24 deaths.
About 703 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 251,395.
