CAIRO, Mar. 31 (SEE)- Next week Egypt’s President AbdelFattah El Sisi is set to embark on an official trip to the United States (U.S.), during which he will meet President Donald Trump, to discuss regional issues and bilateral ties.
“President Sisi’s visit is expected to mark the start of extensive cooperation between Egypt and the U.S.,” said Dr. Dina Rady, Professor of Economics at George Washington University.
“The dual meetings of both leaders reflect the United States’s keenness to strengthen and uphold long-term strategic relations with Egypt.”
Egypt is a mainstay of regional stability, especially after restoring its regional status among the African countries. Thus, Rady noted that renewed joint Egypt-US economic cooperation is underway.
The visit’s timing itself is significant, considering Egypt’s flourishing investment environment. “In the upcoming period, extensive investment is vital for the country to move forward.”
“Accordingly, President Sisi will sit with several Egyptian and American businessmen, so as to discuss opportunities and promote trade exchange.
"Stability is prerequisite for development," she concluded. "Probably, both leaders’ talks will review developments in the Middle East political situation, with a view to emphasize security and progress."
President Sisi’s visit is scheduled to arrive in Washington on April 7.
