The "Egypt Can with Industrialization" conference is sponsored by Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
"Egypt Can with Industrialization" is a conference organized by the Ministry of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministries of Trade and Industry, Military Production, Planning, the Public Business Sector, as well as the Arab Organization for Industrialization.
Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram stated that the President's sponsorship of the conference increases it with honor, and affirms Egypt's desire to advance the industry sector. Makram added that the president was always providing his sponsorship to the five previous sessions of the conference, noting that the current conference is it's sixth.
Makram pointed out that these conferences come within his directives to link Egypt's scientists and inpiduals who made international achievements in the country's issues and problems and used them to solve these issues and problems as well as developing Egyptians lives in all fields, as a part of the goals of Egypt's 2030 Sustainable Development Strategy.
Makram added that as a result of the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, a number of preparatory seminars for the conference were held via video conference in several fields, the first was "Industrial Investment and Egyptian Economy challenges", the second "The textile Industry", and the third was "Localization of the car industry in Egypt,".
The minister stated that Egyptian scientists and experts who have made great achievements in the field of industry in all its forms had participated in the seminars, which was held in coordination and cooperation with the ministers of Trade and Industry, Military Production, Planning, and the public business sector, as well as the president of the Arab Organization for Industrialization.
She added that the seminars were also attended by local experts and members of chambers of commerce and industry.
She revealed that the preparatory seminars will continue until the conference is held in “March-April". She explained the Ministry of Migration's decision to hold the conference came as a result of the great interest of the state and its leadership in advancing the industry sector, which is considered one of the most important factors for achieving the development of the Egyptian economy and the state in general.
In December 2016, the first session of the conference was held in Hurghada under the title "Egypt Can with Its Scientists and Experts". It was attended by 30 Egyptian scientists and experts who migrated abroad and achieved success in many fields.
Cairo hosted the 2nd session in July 2017 under the title “Egypt Can (Taa Marbouta)” in cooperation with the National Council for Women. The session was devoted to Egypt's notables abroad, in line with President El-Sisi's declaration of 2017 as the Year of Egyptian Women. It was attended by 32 of Egypt's scholars and scientists abroad.
As for the third edition, it was hosted in Luxor under the title "Egypt Can with the People of the Nile", in February 2018. The session was devoted to the overall urban development of the Egyptian countryside and the good management of water resources. It was attended by 23 Egyptian scientists abroad in the fields of agriculture, irrigation, and water resource management technology.
All three sessions were sponsored by President El-Sisi.
In December 2018, the 4th session was held in Hurghada under the title “Egypt Can with Education” with the participation of 28 Egyptian experts from abroad. It was held in cooperation with the Ministries of Education and Higher Education to discuss the Education in Egypt and to develop concepts that guarantee an educational system that contributes to building a civilized citizen who can keep pace with modern lifestyles while adhering to moderate religious values and authentic cultural legacies.
With the participation of 65 experts, the 5th session was held in Cairo, under the title "Egypt Can with Invest and Development", in October 2019. It was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Planning to discuss supporting the Egyptian presence on the international investment map, as well as promoting the investment map of Egypt in promising sectors in different fields, and reviewing the successful experiences of investors and the mechanism of applying them in Egypt.
