President Sisi Receives US President Joe Biden

On Friday, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received US President Joe Biden, on the sidelines of COP27 activities in Sharm El Sheikh.

President El Sisi welcomed Biden in Egypt, before asserting the importance of the mutual Egyptian-American ties, adding that they didn't change for over 40 years.

He added that the bilateral cooperation and coordination between both countries continued in several common-interest regional issues.

After that, the Egyptian President referred to the field of human rights, continuing that Egypt established a national strategy of human rights.

El Sisi also mentioned that Egypt started the national dialogue initiative, alongside the work of the Committee of Presidential Pardon. 

On the visit of US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, El Sisi reflected that it was a good chance for examining the US-Egypt ties, mentioning that several subjects were discussed. 

On his side, President Biden expressed that Egypt is the most suitable destination for COP27, wishing that this visit could be an opportunity for strengthening the bilateral relationships between both countries.

The US President also thanked Egypt for its efforts in stopping the conflict in Gaza.

Concerning the Russian-Ukrainian War, President Biden said that Egypt's situation towards the war is similar to Egypt's mediating role in Gaza.
