Sisi, Ethiopian PM Stress Importance of GERD Negotiations

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed Stressed the Importance of GERD Negotiations during a phone call on Friday.

President Sisi received a phone call from the prime minister to express his gratitude and appreciation to the President and to Egypt for congratulating him on winning the Nobel Peace Prize today.

On his part, the President reiterated his congratulations to Ahmed on the award, stressing on the aspiration to support the various aspects of bilateral relations between Egypt and Ethiopia.

Both leaders also stressed the importance of overcoming any obstacles on the negotiations of the Renaissance Dam in order to reach an agreement that fulfills the hopes and aspirations of the peoples of the three countries, Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia, within the framework of the Declaration of Principles signed between them.
