President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received, on Wednesday, Burundian President Évariste Ndayishimiye, on the sidelines of COP27, Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady announced.
President El Sisi welcomed the visit of Ndayishimiye to Egypt, asserting Egypt's continued support for Burundi.
In addition, the Egyptian President hailed the historical relations between both countries, underscoring his ambition to develop the bilateral ties between Egypt and Burundi, especially on the level of political cooperation and coordination.
Rady revealed that the meeting between the two presidents examined the means for improving bilateral cooperation.
Ndayishimiye praised the Egyptian support for his country's stability and the back Egypt presents to Burundi in all regional and international events.
On his side, President El Sisi hailed Burundi's situation in supporting Egypt in the issues related to the Nile.
