President Abdel Fattah El Sisi instructed on Saturday the government to focus on the electric vehicle industry and its future horizons in cooperation with the international companies specialized in this domain.
President Sisi directed the bodies concerned to benefit from the companies' expertise and technologies to cope up with the global trends in the automotive industry and maintain the environment as well as localizing the auto industry in Egypt.
Sisi gave his directives during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Minister for Public Business Sector Hisham Tawfik, and Trade and Industry Minister Nevin Gamea, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

The meeting touched on the strategy of the automotive industry in Egypt and electric transportation.
They reviewed the industrial and business pillars of the electric vehicle industry's strategy given that Egypt is a promising market for manufacturing means of transportation.
Moreover, the president ordered the attendance to continue the state's plan to develop the spinning and weaving industry and help the Egyptian cotton regain its glory.
He called for drafting a comprehensive vision that covers all agricultural, commercial, and industrial dimensions of the Egyptian cotton system.
In this score, the meeting tackled efforts of upgrading the textile sector, especially by renovating the cotton, spinning, and weaving factories and gins and the cultivation of cotton process.
Gamea, during the meeting, reviewed efforts of establishing industrial complexes nationwide that contribute to creating more jobs.
