President Sisi, Oman's Sultan Hold Discussions to Boost Bilateral Ties

On Sunday, Egyptian President Abdul Fattah El Sisi, and Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tarik held an official session of talks at El-Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo.

At the outset of the session, the Egyptian President reiterated his heartfelt welcome for the Omani Sultan as a dear guest of Egypt and its people.

 He wished the Sultan and his official delegation a happy stay.

 On his turn, Omani Sultan reciprocated the kind sentiments, thanking President Sisi for the warm welcome and sincere hospitality.

The two leaders reviewed the distinguished relations and the deep-rooted historical bonds binding Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman. They also explored various aspects of the existing bilateral cooperation in all fields and contemplated ways of consolidating the joint interests in a manner that generates bounty and benefits to the two countries' peoples.

Sisi and the Omani Sultan also exchanged views on various developments at the regional and international arenas.

The session of talks was attended from the Egyptian side by General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production, Sameh Shoukry, Foreign Minister, Major General Abbas Kamel, Head of the General Intelligence, Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Mohamed Moait, Minister of Finance, Dr. Assem Al Jazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities (Head of the Mission of Honour), Eng. Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, Khalid Radi, Ambassador of Egypt to Oman and Ahmed Fahmy, Spokesman of the Presidency.

Meanwhile, it was attended from the Omani side by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office, Abdul Salam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League.
