As part of his European tour, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre during an official visit to Norway. The meeting emphasized strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across key sectors.
Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El Shennawy noted that the discussions reflected mutual appreciation for the positive momentum in Egyptian-Norwegian relations. Both sides agreed on the importance of enhancing economic, trade, and investment ties, as well as fostering collaboration between business communities and chambers of commerce and industry. They also stressed the need to boost trade exchange to unlock the full potential of their partnership.
President Sisi underscored Egypt’s commitment to investing in and expanding green energy production. He welcomed collaboration with Norway in developing green hydrogen projects, utilizing renewable energy sources to promote sustainable development.
The meeting also addressed shared political and regional concerns. Both leaders agreed on the importance of maintaining regular political consultations and coordinating positions on pressing international issues. Specific emphasis was placed on supporting the Palestinian cause and working towards restoring stability in the Middle East.
