President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, where the two leaders discussed regional developments, especially the situation in Gaza and bilateral cooperation.

During the call, President Sisi praised Norway’s recognition of the State of Palestine in May 2024, calling it a model stance that reflects true support for a two-state solution and lasting peace in the region.

Prime Minister Støre congratulated Egypt on the success of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit and commended Egypt’s diplomatic efforts in securing a ceasefire in Gaza. He also welcomed Egypt’s invitation for Norway to participate in the summit and affirmed his country’s support for humanitarian aid to Gaza, alongside the need to launch a political process that would implement the two-state solution.

President Sisi outlined Egypt’s efforts in facilitating humanitarian access and preparing for the early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza. He confirmed Egypt’s plans to host an international conference to mobilize support for Gaza’s rebuilding and expressed hope for strong Norwegian participation.

The leaders also reviewed bilateral ties, noting growing cooperation since President Sisi’s visit to Oslo in December 2024. They agreed to expand collaboration, particularly in renewable energy, with Norway expressing its commitment through companies such as Scatec and its interest in helping position Egypt as a regional energy hub.
