President Sisi Meets US Counterpart in Jeddah (Video)

On Saturday, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met the US President Joe Biden for the first time since he took the office last year.

The Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady said that the US President asserted the keenness of the US administration for enhancing the bilateral means of cooperation between the two countries in the upcoming period in the light of Egypt's vital role in the region.

In addition, Biden praised the role of Egypt for strengthening the stability and security in the region, alongside its efforts in establishing the ceasefire in Gaza, and its reconstruction.

On his side, President El-Sisi asserted Egypt's interest in deepening the ties between both countries for fulfilling the regional security, in addition to Egypt's keenness in improving the coordination between both states in regarding several regional issues.

The topics discussed by both leaders included the mutual cooperation in fields of resisting the impact of global food crisis, and energy.

Furthermore, President El-Sisi asserted Egypt's stand for supporting the institutions of the countries that pass through crises for ending the suffering of their nations.

In the same context, both leaders examined the latest developments of Palestine, and Egypt's firm situation towards Palestine, and the importance of settling a fair solution for the Palestinian people for establishing an independent state.

He also pointed out to the importance of the cooperation between Egypt and the US for reviving the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations

The latest developments of GERD, and Egypt's call for reaching a legal settlement for filling and moderating the GERD for securing Egypt's rights in Nile Water, and fulfilling the interests of the three countries were also discussed between both presidents.

President El-Sisi arrived Jeddah, KSA a few minutes ago, and he was received by the Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman.

He headed to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate at Jeddah Summit, according to Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

Rady added that the participation of President Sisi represents Egypt’s keenness on strengthening its ties between Cairo and Washington, as well as, enhancing the mutual efforts for facing the regional and global challenges.

The presidential spokesperson said that the visit aims at deepening the means of coordination and cooperation for preserving the regional and international stability and security, in addition to developing the mutual relations between the participating parties at the summit.
