President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with a group of journalists, media figures, and the head of the General Information Authority today at the Strategic Command Headquarters in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital.
The meeting addressed key regional developments, including the ongoing conflict in Gaza, Egypt's efforts to broker a ceasefire, facilitate the exchange of hostages and detainees, and ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid.
The Presidential Spokesman noted that the discussions also covered crises in Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, and Yemen, as well as Egypt’s ongoing diplomatic initiatives aimed at resolving these issues.
Sisi emphasized the critical importance of water security for Egypt, describing it as a matter of national survival.
In response to inquiries, he reaffirmed the readiness and strength of state institutions, particularly the military and police, to confront both internal and external challenges. He stressed that the unity and cohesion of Egyptians remain the cornerstone of the nation's resilience.
Moreover, Sisi highlighted Egypt’s significant progress in economic reform and development, asserting that the nation is on the right track. He noted the confidence of international financial institutions in Egypt's economy and outlined the government's commitment to localizing industry to reduce dependence on imports, thereby easing pressure on foreign currency demand.
The President also acknowledged ongoing challenges, pledging sincere efforts to address shortcomings and strengthen Egypt against any potential threats, reaffirming his vision for a robust and resilient state.
